Let me start by saying that we all cannot be office workers. You do not really need any form of capital to get into the car business. Most car dealers in Nigeria are middlemen who started with zero capital. They do not actually own the cars they sell. Rather, they sell them on behalf of the owners and get a commission.
All you need to get into the car business is a love of cars and knowledge of the terminologies used. For instance, if somebody says they want a Baby Boy, you should be able to understand what they mean without asking "Which one is Baby Boy?". In a follow-up post, I will list the terminologies or nick-names used for some popular cars in Nigeria.
As I said earlier, most car dealers are middlemen. You too can become a middleman. All you need is to keep your ear to the ground and watch out for people seeking to buy a car. This could be friends, family members or anybody. Once you identify the car they want, the next step is to get all the relevant information about the car such as price, location, colour etc. You can get all these information at this website:
NairaCarDealers.com
At this site, you will find a large number of cars and jeeps available for sale by different dealers in Lagos. We have carefully selected dealers whom we think are reputable. You do not need their permission to market their cars. They will all be too happy if you bring them a buyer.
Please note, the car business can be profitable but it requires a lot of hard work and patience. If you become successful as a middleman, you may graduate to an importer. That's where the real profit lies.
